More and more as a wedding photographer, I’ve been seeing really cool and unique ideas being incorporated into my couple’s weddings. I always love seeing a new spin on ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, and so on. So, today, I have compiled a list of 5 ways you can make your wedding day more unique! After all, every couple and love story is unique in their own right, so shouldn’t your wedding day reflect that too?

01. INCLUDE YOUR CULTURE INTO YOUR DAY

Something that you can do on your wedding day to make it more catered to you as a couple is celebrating your culture and partaking in those traditions. Almost every culture has cool traditions that you do on your wedding day. It’s also great way to share your culture with your guests and honor your roots.

02. HIRE A LIVE BAND RATHER THAN A DJ

Something super common you see during weddings is a DJ. Wedding DJs are great but something you can do to switch it up is hire a live band for the whole night. Live bands can be even more fun than DJs at times and it’s a great way to get everyone on the dance floor and add a little bit of spice to any wedding!

03. MAKE YOUR WEDDING INTO A WEDDING WEEKEND

Instead of celebrating your wedding for one day only, make it into a wedding weekend! This definitely works better for more intimate weddings but you can bring everyone along to have fun at a resort or wherever your wedding is taking place.

04. HOST A WEDDING BRUNCH

Instead of having a wedding during the evening, have it in the morning/afternoon! You can serve delicious breakfast foods and mimosas for the day. This is perfect for those who want a calm and elegant wedding day.

05. HAVE A RECORDED MESSAGE GUEST BOOK

I know what you may be thinking… what is a recorded message guest book? It is a phone that is provided during your reception that allows your guest to leave voice mails for you to listen to later. This is a great momento to keep and listen back on with your partner.
