So you want to propose to your partner but need some ideas. Well, you’re in the right place because that’s exactly what I’m here to do today. As a wedding photographer, I have heard endless beautiful proposal stories! And one thing I’ve learned is that whether you plan something extremely extravagant or keep it simple, all that matters is that it’s meaningful and special to both of you.
Everyone has different preferences. You may want something over the top and huge, while others love a more intimate and private occasion. The level of “extra” you go for is really up to you! After all, you’re asking someone if they will spend forever with you, and that’s a pretty big deal! So let’s make sure it’s romantic and memorable. To make things easier for you, I made a list of five ideas for a romantic proposal.

Let’s start off with a simple one. Recreate the first date you had with your partner. Go to the same place, eat the same food, listen to the same music, etc. You’ll be able to reminisce on the start of your relationship and talk about all the memories you have made together so far. Bring along a photo album with all the pictures you have taken throughout your relationship and look through it together.
Plan out a scavenger hunt for your partner! This one is so fun and you can make it really special. Make clues that lead them to different spots that mean something to the two of you. For example, a clue can lead to where you had your first date, your favorite restaurant, and maybe even a trip to the nail salon. At the last stop, you can be there, ready to propose! This one is amazing for building up the suspense for your partner.
Take your relationship to new heights and propose in a hot air balloon! Book a scenic ride and get ready for some breathtaking views. If you’re looking for a unique and extravagant way to propose this is the way to go. You and your partner will remember this magical moment forever. Just make sure they aren’t scared of heights!
Are you a couple that likes to go on adventures together? Then this is perfect for you! Plan a trip together and propose while you’re there. You can go to that place they’ve always dreamed of going to and have extra scenic surroundings during the proposal. This option also allows you two to spend uninterrupted time together and you get to soak it all in. To make it extra special, you can even plan the trip on your anniversary.
Another great one if you’re an adventurous couple that likes exploring together. Take advantage of that and plan your proposal during one of your hikes. Make sure to pick a spot that has a beautiful view or overlook and keep in mind the popularity of the spot. You don’t want tons of random people in the background of your proposal.
