At the beginning of the year, the Netflix series Bridgerton was a new hit show. That series was the whole inspiration behind this editorial shoot that Shelia from Delana Formals hosted. This was my second time collaborating with Sheila and she asked me to do the stationery, as well as be the lead photographer, and I was thrilled to be a part of it. I was immediately drawn to the theme, a modern take on Bridgerton. I wanted to really flex my creative muscles on the stationery pieces.
It was my first time creating a stationery suite with handmade paper with a deckled edge from August & White. I went for a fine art, vintage vibe, with a bold envelope liner. I appreciated being able to style each of the flatlay vignettes and paired them with styling items from Champagne and Grit. Using different styling elements added the perfect touch and complimented the suites.
The entire shoot itself was exquisite. The ballroom at the Athletic Club of Columbus was the perfect venue for this event. Their ballroom already has a vintage look with gold ceilings, an engraved fireplace, and chandeliers. There were two jaw-dropping floral installations over the tablescape. In the show, the details of each woman’s dress were beautifully crafted, and the wedding gown was impeccably the same. The corset in the back of the wedding dress has a familiar look to the dresses in the Bridgerton show. The tradition of serving champagne at a wedding was added to this shoot by a champagne tower. This can be a cute addition to your wedding reception, or this could even replace your cake cutting. Gather your guests around to watch you pour the bubbly and then they can grab a glass and say cheers to you!
I was delighted to be one of the vendors for this editorial shoot. I enjoyed seeing the vision actually come to life while collaborating with the dress designer and florist during the planning process and it really helped me hone in on the aesthetic of the shoot. I was able to take all of the inspiration and then let it shine through with the stationery suites.
If you loved the show Bridgerton, then you will love these photos because it was a modern take on the extravagance of Bridgerton. Enjoy!
