Today on the blog I am talking all about my favorite engagement session locations in Ohio! Engagement sessions are such an important factor in the wedding planning experience. This is a great way to get to know your wedding photographer better, become more comfortable in front of the camera, and become pros at posing. Getting in front of the camera can be intimidating, but choosing the perfect location can help calm those nerves knowing we’re going to create some magic! Choosing a location for your session can be a little stressful so I’m dishing out my favorite engagement session locations in and around central Ohio.

1. Wegerzyn Garden MetroPark – Dayton, OH

First up is Wegerzyn Garden MetroPark in Dayton, Ohio. This park is magical and gives you the vibes of a romantic garden. There is so much to offer here, including a variety of flowers, ivy filled pergolas, and open prairie grass fields. This park features 10 formal gardens, a nature trail and boardwalk, which all make for a glorious picture backdrop.

2. Scioto Mile – Columbus, OH

My next favorite location is Scioto Mile in Columbus, Ohio. I love everything about this location! If you’re wanting an urban look for your engagement session, then this spot might be perfect for you. At Scioto Mile, you can get the skyline of downtown Columbus in the background of your photos! This area also features several bridges that pictures can be taken on or under. Also, along Scioto Mile is a dreamy spot just right behind COSI. 3. Franklin Park Conservatory Community Garden – Columbus, OH

The third location you should check out is Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio. The Conservatory is filled with beautiful picturesque locations, but my favorite is the quaint Community Garden that features a fountain and a variety of perfectly landscaped gardens. There is also a tree lined path that makes for amazing pictures!

4. Cox Arboretum – Dayton, OH

My next favorite location is Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio. This location has a wide variety of charming nature. The ponds, bridges, and pathways give this location an innate scenery for outdoor pictures. This park also features a rock garden, butterfly house, and colorful perennial gardens.

5. The Rural Society at Warwick Farms – Mount Vernon, OH

The fifth location that I love is Warwick Farms in Mount Vernon, Ohio. If you’re looking to get your engagement photos done in the winter time, but you don’t exactly want to freeze, then this is the perfect location for you! The Glass House is an 1800 square foot event space that can be used for weddings, small gatherings, and special events.

6. A Sentimental Location

Last but not least, any sentimental location that means something to you is always a great place for pictures. This could be around your property, farm, where you met, or where you went on your first date. I am always down to adventure around a new location! We can explore together and find the best spots. When choosing a location that means something to you, I always feel like the pictures are even more special and romantic! It’s like we are telling your story in photos.
