Some weddings just feel different from the moment you arrive, and this Cliffside Acres wedding for Lindsey and Sam was one of those days. The leaves were turning, the light had that golden, glowy quality only October can give you, and you could sense how happy everyone was for the two of them. It was emotional and heartfelt in the best way, right from getting ready that morning.

The details alone set the tone for the whole day: Sam’s vow book, his watch, and his shoes laid out next to a boutonniere, with rose petals and rings scattered nearby. Lindsey’s shoes, her perfume, her earrings, and their invitation suite carried that same classic black and white feel before either of them even got dressed.

Sam’s mom helped him with his boutonniere before he pulled his groomsmen together for a few portraits, and just down the hall, Lindsey and her bridesmaids posed together in their matching robes and pajamas before getting into their dresses.

Before the ceremony, Lindsey shared a first look with her dad under one of the two big oak trees out front, and it was every bit as sweet as you’d imagine.
Right after, her mom stepped in with a letter and a bracelet for Lindsey to wear that day, a gift she’ll get to hold onto long after the wedding itself. Watching the two of them share that moment together, just the two of them under the trees, was so special to capture.
Lindsey looked like an absolute princess in her gown, and her bridal portraits are some of my favorites from the whole day. Her look tied perfectly into the classic black and white palette she and Sam built the entire wedding around, timeless and elegant from her dress to every detail around her.
Lindsey and Sam chose to share a first look and private vows together in that same spot under the oaks, and honestly, hearing them read their vows to each other, you just knew it was going to be a great day.
Her bridesmaids wore black, and their bouquets were white florals mixed with greenery, simple, classic, and timeless, right in line with the day’s palette. We grabbed their portraits out front of the venue, and their energy together set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
Even with a first look already behind them, Sam still got emotional watching Lindsey walk down the aisle on her dad’s arm. So did quite a few members of the wedding party and their guests. Their ceremony took place in the venue’s Glass House, which was full of natural light and made for such a beautiful backdrop no matter what the weather decided to do.
Their reception carried that same black and white theme through every detail, from the tiered cake to the sweetheart table dressed in candles and greenery. Table numbers, a seating chart guests could browse before walking in, and simple, elegant place settings rounded out the space.
Their first dance was quiet and sweet, just the two of them on the dance floor before the night really got going.
It’s rare to photograph a day this full of heart, from the letter under the oak trees to a first dance that felt like it was just for the two of them. Congratulations, Lindsey and Sam!
