Archived: Dan + Dounia | Fall Florida Destination Wedding

I’m pretty sure Dan and Dounia were destined to have a destination wedding – in Florida. I mean, where else would you centralize the bringing together of family and friends from all over the world?! Dan and Dounia’s guests traveled from Belgium, Germany, Brazil – and of course all those little towns in Ohio, too.

Besides the palm tress and warm air, Dan and Dounia’s wedding venue couldn’t have been a more perfect place to have an intimate, small wedding. They booked a villa near Orlando, Florida and invited their guests to stay and celebrate with them for a week leading up to the big day. As a friend of the couple I felt extremely honored that they asked me to photograph their wedding. And I also got to relax by the pool before the big day. It was a win-win!

My absolute favorite parts of weddings are the little things – the little surprises. Dounia’s sisters surprised Dan and Dounia with a video of well wishes from those who couldn’t make the travel to the wedding. Keep scrolling to see this moment!

After the ceremony, Dounia kicked off her heels for these little white ankle footies in the picture below to the right.

Dounia’s family DIY’ed the floral bouquets. They were beautiful!

Each of the guys’ suits were customized with their name and the inside linings of each suit were different patterns.
